At privateez.com (operated by High Bit Security, LLC), accessible from https://privateez.com, one of our main priorities is the privacy of our visitors. This Privacy Policy describes the types of information that are collected and recorded by privateez.com and how we use it.
This Privacy Policy applies to the privateez.com website, the PrivateEZ™ registry, Lookup and Gifted Tool links, and Owner Reports hosted by us. It does not apply to a Licensee’s own website or to a third-party marketplace.
A person who only looks up a product, reads a registry page, or reads Owner Reports is not a Licensee. Licensee rights and duties are in the Trademark License Agreement. Owner Reports posting rules are in the Reviews Terms.
By using our website, you consent to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, discontinue use.
Information you submit. When you send an inquiry, create an account, register an Offering, post or reply to an Owner Report, or pay a fee, we collect what you provide. That typically includes name, email address, company name, phone number, postal code, message content, and payment-process details needed to complete the transaction. We do not store full payment-card numbers on this site when a payment processor handles the charge.
Licensee and Offering records. If you are a Licensee or applicant, we store attestation answers, identifiers you attest (titles, model numbers, MPNs, GTINs), photographs you upload of packaging or device plates, Binder files you upload, and the star level awarded. Those records are program records. Some of them are published on the official record.
Lookup and camera use. A Lookup or Gifted Tool may send us a normalized identifier string (for example a title, model, GTIN, or Registration ID) and, if present, a referrer Registration ID. The default is that optical character recognition runs on the user’s device and the image is not uploaded or kept. We do not require a shopper account for a basic lookup. We do not use lookup images to build an advertising profile. If a later written program allows image upload, that program will say so before the image is sent.
Owner Reports. If you post or reply, we store the account used, the text, and standard log data. Display, reply, and takedown follow the Reviews Terms.
Referral identifiers. We may collect one or more Registration IDs from a URL (for example 94Z0-63A0-31N0). Those codes identify a Licensee or Offering. They are used for referral attribution under the Referral Policy.
Technical data. We may receive pages visited, timestamps, IP address, browser type, and similar log data used to operate the site and to limit abuse.
We do not sell personal information. We do not use registry or lookup data to advertise third-party products to shoppers.
When you visit via a URL that contains an id parameter (a QR code, Gifted Tool, Binder link, Show Kit, designated referral link, or registry result), we may store that identifier in a cookie or similar storage on your browser. Default duration is one year, subject to your browser.
We may store a first-touch identifier and a last-touch identifier. A designated referral link may replace ordinary program-traffic identifiers, as described in the Referral Policy. If you later submit an inquiry or complete a registration, stored identifiers may be associated with that submission so we can attribute a certification fee.
We do not use these identifiers for advertising or profiling. We do not sell them.
The site may also use cookies that are required to keep a login session or to run the page. You may disable cookies in your browser. Public pages will still load. Referral identifiers may not be stored, and some forms or logins may not work.
If cookies are disabled, we may use your IP address to rate-limit requests and to protect the site. That can delay or restrict requests from that address.
privateez.com uses log files in the ordinary way. Logs may include IP address, browser type, Internet Service Provider, referring and exit pages, and date and time. Logs are not tied to a name unless you submit personal information on a form. Log data is not sold. It is used to operate the site, attribute referrals, analyze traffic, and prevent abuse.
Official records may show Organization or Offering name, Registration ID, star level, attested identifiers, Licensee-uploaded product photographs, and the Certification Authority’s statement of what that star level means. Owner Reports that you post may be public under the Reviews Terms.
A consumer lookup does not publish the shopper’s name, camera roll, or home address.
